Personal Lines Account Manager

Job Summary

Provide the highest level of customer service to Personal Lines accounts for an independent insurance agency. Provide this service by developing a professional rapport with clients, company representatives, and business associates by maintaining knowledge of personal lines coverage and company underwriting guidelines.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Determine appropriate and necessary information from client, company, or mortgagee to coordinate marketing or new and renewal coverages.
  • Process all aspects of the marketing or remarketing process, complete questionnaire, rate through the appropriate company, type applications and supplemental applications, invoice, and secure signatures and premium.
  • Order MVR, CLUE, ADD, and Score reports for new business, remarketing, and repricing.
  • Analyze carrier quotes and coverage to determine the best options for the client.
  • Order policies, issue evidence of insurance, as needed, invoice original premium and premium changes generated through the policy term.
  • Order necessary checks from accounting or submit payments online to companies and confirm to the Accounting agency billed policies/endorsements and most new business items.
  • Maintain accurate account information in the agency's database.
  • Check policies and endorsements for coverage accuracy, rating, and client information.
  • Maintain and work suspense utilizing AMS.
  • Contact clients and mortgage companies for the collection of premiums as necessary. Notify the producer by email on past-due accounts.
  • Serve as backup for other Personal Lines Account Managers during absences and heavy workload cycles.
  • Review accounts for possible cross-selling opportunities.
  • Backup or assist the Claims Supervisor when out of the office or during Catastrophic losses. This includes developing rapport with the client, outlining the claims process, verifying coverage, completing the Accord loss notice, and correctly reporting to the insurance company.
  • Continue education through training sessions and industry courses.
  • Any other duties as requested by management.

Job Skills and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Five or more years of Personal Lines Insurance experience with a current Texas General Agents License.
  • Experience with AMS360 preferred.
  • Ability to work in a paperless environment.
  • Organizational skills and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and flexibility with daily work.
  • Computer and data entry skills.
  • Math aptitude and analytical abilities.
  • Awareness of E & O exposure and use of E & O prevention techniques.
