HR Assistant

Job Summary (Onsite)

Under general supervision performs support duties for all HR functions. Assist with various clerical tasks within the department. Assists HR Manager and HR staff with ongoing processes and special projects.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Support the recruitment process by posting jobs and preparing offer letters.
  • Assist in the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing orientation materials.
  • Set up new employee files and maintain employee records.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
  • Assist with audits and compliance checks as needed.
  • Handle I9 file maintenance.
  • Provide payroll support.
  • Assist with Benefits Open Enrollment.
  • Enter employee information and updates into databases, HRIS, and payroll systems.
  • Assist with the Wellness Program.
  • Order employee company logo shirts.
  • Administer quarterly random drug testing.
  • Communicate monthly birthdays and milestone anniversaries.
  • Order and maintain tracking of business cards and nametags.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as required.

Job Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three-years office, clerical experience.
  • Previous experience in Human Resources is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and use a computer keyboard efficiently.
  • Full-time position with a 40-hour workweek, Monday to Friday.

Salary Grade 04
