Accounting Assistant

Job Summary

Performs a variety of accounting duties according to existing procedures, methods, and systems. Reconciles accounts.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Accounts payable functions.
  • Responsible for verifying the approval source for paying a given invoice.
  • Prepares checks to be issued to Bank vendors.
  • Recap all Bank payables and post totals to the general ledger.
  • Fixed Assets reporting includes tracking fixed assets, recording depreciation, and accounting for the disposition of fixed assets.
  • Investments accounting, reporting, and reconciliations.
  • Assist with preparing the annual budget, 3-5 years, and capital plans.
  • Assist with preparing the interest rate risk model and the analysis of the model.
  • Assist with investment transactions and the analysis of the portfolio.
  • Assist with preparing board and committee reports.
  • Any other duties as requested by management.

Job Skills and Requirements:

  • Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in business or accounting preferred.
  • Two or more years of accounting experience.
  • Strong math aptitude and excellent analytical, problem solving, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Excellent technical skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Attention to detail, organization, and a high level of accuracy.
