Job Summary

The Staff Internal Auditor supports the Internal Audit team by implementing and administering a comprehensive audit program, performing audits in accordance with regulatory guidelines and Bank policy, and reporting findings both verbally and through comprehensive written reports to the Audit Committee and other senior management.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conduct internal audits of various areas of the Bank.
  • Create and/or modify internal audit work programs, work papers and reports.
  • Maintain current industry knowledge of applicable guidelines and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with management and the Audit Committee.
  • Monitor compliance with audit recommendations.
  • Perform work independently, exercising independent judgement and discretion.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality, independence, and objectivity.

Job Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred.
  • Bank lending and deposit operations experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communicator, analytical writer and able to convey personal observations or processes, risks, and controls clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent attention to details.
  • Robust organizational skills.
  • Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables.
  • Ability to thrive in and enjoy a dynamic, fast pace, and team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to think critically about complex problems and generate potential solutions.
  • Constantly adapt as technology and trends change.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
  • Must be able to travel among the Bank network in Southeast Texas, as needed.
  • Location of Office: Texas City or West Houston area.
