Personal Lines Account Manager

Job Summary

Responsible for the highest level of customer service to Personal Lines Accounts. Providing prompt, accurate and courteous service to agency clients. Working independently & collaboratively with clients, producers & company representatives to design & execute a comprehensive insurance program specific to insureds needs. Developing a professional rapport with clients, company representatives and business associates; by maintaining knowledge of personal lines coverage and company underwriting guidelines. Maintaining security and client confidentiality. Upholding and encouraging a positive work environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Collectively or independently explore, create, execute, review all information necessary to designs & implement appropriate insurance programs for clients both new & renewal in accordance with agency and underwriting guidelines.
  • Manage/maintain assigned book of business ensuring timely renewal relationship continuation process is managed according to agency standards and guidelines as to protect client, agency E&O exposure and carrier partner relationships.
  • Prepare proposal, & in collaboration with producer, present proposal to client, obtain required signatures & warranties required to secure coverage.
  • Maintain/update agency management systems/platforms with all required information according to agency procedures.
  • Prepare summaries of insurance for producer / client review
  • Manage all day-to-day service needs of clients, including but not limited to changes, endorsements, cancellations, reinstatements.
  • Prioritize & manage workflow to ensure efficient, timely & accurate handling of responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with producers, associates & agency team members, providing technical support, to assist clients & reach agency goals.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry state & federal rules & regulations and carrier underwriting requirements
  • Consult, inform, educate clients on coverages, exclusions & exposures.
  • Represents the agency in collaboration with producers in handling complaints, concerns, for an amicable relationship with clients & carriers.
  • All other duties requested by management to assist agency in achieving organizational goals.

  • Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • AMS360, image right/work smart, various carrier website platforms

Level of Responsibility

  • Managing client accounts

  • Making independent strategic decisions which require expert level of discretion, education, knowledge & independent judgement.
  • At times involves responsibilities beyond standard office hours i.e., client meetings, client deadlines, industry training events.

Education and Special Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Higher level education preferred.
  • Property & casualty license
  • CISR, CIC or equivalent designation
  • three - five years’ experience in personal lines insurance preferred
  • Awareness of E & O exposure and use of E & O prevention techniques
