Job Summary:

Supports the commercial lending team through financial and credit analysis and underwriting processes by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting all types of credit information on existing and prospective clients and portfolios. Primary duty is to analyze credit and financial reports to determine financial condition and risk involved in extending credit. Supports risk mitigation and portfolio quality through robust credit monitoring and collaborates with Relationship Managers and lending teams to successfully complete duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing financial information such as balance sheets, income and cash flow statements, and periodic financial reporting of all types.
  • Accurately spread financial statements.
  • Assessing the overall credit worthiness of client companies.
  • Prepare, review, and discuss loan presentation with the Relationship Manager, Senior Management, and/or Chief Credit Officer.
  • Prepare written credit-approval packages for approval presentation.
  • Conducts research to determine the quality, character, and soundness of loan request to include but not limited to: the analysis of basic statistical data and financial statements, sensitivity analysis, industry analysis, management assessment, guarantor analysis, etc.
  • Monitor and track compliance with loan agreement covenants on significant relationships.
  • Participate in special projects throughout the year such as loan review, audit, bank peer analysis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned from time to time by management of the bank.

Education and Special Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting or Finance with a strong basis in financial accounting.
  • Knowledge and competency with financial statements.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to function in a high attention to detail, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work on multiple transactions simultaneously and prioritized assignments to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
  • Sit at a desk and computer terminal for extended time periods.
  • Typical work hours Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.
